Entering Uitm Pharmacy!
Hi and Assalamualaikum everyone ๐ OH ! 15/6/17 (the date)...Wow, very long long time ago. It's almost a year since I last write in this blog. But, since it is not a year since that..so yeah, let me share my thouughts on this topic with you guys๐
So, at this post I want to rewind a little bit about the MYBRAINSC Scholarship, kan haritu saya cakap yang saya tengah tunggu emel dari pihak biasiswa and I did got a reply from them but I didn't managed to get the scholarship. It said : "Dukacita saudari tidak berjaya....". But, that I got after the good NEWS. I got a UPU(higher education level) offer on 3rd August for Pharmacy at Uitm.
I didn't expect that UPU result, but what I know I had made the right decision putting Uitm Pharmacy (Degree) as my first choice in the options in UPU system. But, before I tell my experience about my studies at Uitm Puncak Alam as a pharmacy student, I also want to share to you (adik-adik sekalian yang berminat/dah apply farmasi Uitm dalam pilihan UPU) about the interview that I have gone through before entering this course.
So, here it goes then... first you will definitely want to always check the updates on UPU system website for any notification about the interview call. From my previous days, my interview session is on the 11th June 2017 and this is about ten days after you were being notified that you got the offer to attend the interview. Yeah, so be prepared yaa!
Ok, so on the interview day, you will have to arrive early at the location. For those who applied Uitm Pharmacy, your location is at PALAM (short term for Puncak Alam's Uitm campus). Then, you will wait for the briefing at the lecture hall. This is an example of the lecture hall that I entered. ( the picture shown below):-
After the briefing, I was called by my name and need to register and give all the documents needed during the interview. Here, during the registration, I meet my circuit friends. WHY ON EARTH that I called them CIRCUIT FRIENDS? Hahahahahah... This is because basically my friends and I will go through the same circuit. There will be a total of like 6 circuits in that point of time (satu masa). So, it is basically called circuit because we will go through all the "stations" and forming like a circle or circuit that I'll explain.
In my time of interview , there are 6 stations. (4 + 2). (4+2), because four of them will be the active stations, meaning that the interview will be on whereas the number two is indicating the rest stations before going through the active stations. But I went through this six stations for one time only.
You are supposed to hold papers that contain your name and student ID with you all the time in the circuit. That is actually the evaluation form for the panels that you will give to them when meeting face to face. And, my advise is don't bring along your pen/pencil with you while going through the interview. hehe, If not, you'll find a masterpiece at your hands๐
So, during my time of the interview... I was asked 4 questions within the entire circuit. And for the other five circuits at that point of time will be asked different kinds of questions but maybe with same level of difficulty. Ok, so these are the questions that the interviewers asked me:
1) Why do you want to become a pharmacist?
2) About benefits of having a degree.
3) Your favourite book and how does the book affects you?
4) A case/ situation where you have to give solutions to it.
Actually, they are testing us with four main domains which are communication, ethics, critical thinking and passion. (P.S: You may choose to converse in Malay or English but for communication station, you must speak in English)
So, I think that's all that I remember how the interview goes during my time. It was honestly tough but enjoyable because you can move around through the circuits. It is also different than other interview sessions.
Feel free to ask any questions by leaving your comments below.
And, THANK YOU FOR READING!
